Tayo Oviosu studied engineering and business in the United States, building early career experience at Cisco Systems before returning to Nigeria with a vision of using mobile technology to expand financial access.

In 2009, Oviosu founded Paga, a mobile money platform allowing Nigerians to send money, pay bills and access financial services through their phones, addressing the severe lack of banking infrastructure across much of the country.

Paga grew to become one of Nigeria's leading mobile money platforms, processing billions of dollars in transactions and extending financial services access to millions of Nigerians who had never previously had a bank account.
