Nidal Tafah earned a state engineering degree in rural engineering from the Institut Agronomique et VΓ©tΓ©rinaire Hassan II in 2019, specialising in solar irrigation and sustainable rural infrastructure. She began her career that same year at Agricoser as a rural engineer and operations manager, working directly with farming communities facing water and energy access challenges.

In 2020, Tafah co-founded MIRRIAH alongside technical director Said El Hafidi, an agricultural technology company developing solar-powered irrigation solutions for rural Morocco. As drought and rising fuel costs increasingly threaten African harvests, MIRRIAH's solar pumping equipment connects to drip irrigation systems, progressively replacing diesel-powered motor pumps with a sustainable alternative.

Tafah designed MIRRIAH's installations to be modular, allowing them to grow alongside each farm's needs, and introduced a 'Pay-As-You-Grow' financing model that spreads the investment cost over time, using fuel savings to offset payments β€” removing the upfront financial barrier that keeps small producers locked into diesel dependency.
