๐Ÿ“– Biography

Daisy Isiaho was born and raised in Kenya to parents who were both medical doctors, and studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Multimedia University of Kenya, one of only eleven women in a class of roughly ninety. Though her parents hoped she would pursue medicine, she was determined to follow a mathematics-focused path instead, developing an early interest in applications that could meaningfully improve people's lives.

In 2020, during the early uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Isiaho joined Nigerian-born entrepreneur Ikechukwu Anoke to help build Zuri Health, a telemedicine platform connecting patients across Sub-Saharan Africa with doctors via mobile app, website, WhatsApp bot and SMS service. The company's name came from Anoke's daughter, born in 2012 in circumstances that nearly proved fatal due to the difficulty of quickly finding a specialist โ€” an experience that shaped the founders' determination to close gaps in African healthcare access.

Isiaho initially served on Zuri Health's board before joining full-time as Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer in 2022. Under the founding team, later joined by Titilola Olaolu-Hassan, Zuri Health expanded to operate across nine African countries โ€” Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana, Uganda, Senegal, Cameroon and South Africa โ€” and was named Sankalp Africa's Company of the Year in 2022.
